The Indian Electoral Autocracy
The Indian Electoral Autocracy
Godi Media is the sensationalist and biased print,
The media wants in like flint,
They do nothing but divert people and spread lies,
Before watching any news we need to be wise,
India is now considered as an electoral autocracy,
After all they have killed the Indian democracy.
Secularism is a matter of faith,
Thats what Pranab Mukherjee saith,
India’s nationhood is not one language, one religion, one enemy,
It is our composite culture which is our legacy,
But some politicians broke the commitment and policy,
Of keeping religion out which proves their dishonesty.
Rape is an assault on humanity,
The rapists don’t have any sanity,
They don’t know how to respect the gender who gave birth to them,
It is because of their mother’s root now that they are a stem,
Its like the government cease to exist,
As they aren’t imposing laws which will not allow the rapes to persist.
Electoral bonds are violative of Right to Information,
The made-up special currency hides the transaction,
That only political parties used,
Corruption was made legal which was later refused,
Crony capitalism takes a root,
And we blindly look at the leaders and give them a salute.
Unemployment is the side effect of the government’s negligence,
That they failed to create jobs for the youth,
An unemployed goes through a lot of dreadfulness,
The government can only say the untruth,
The unemployeds are discontent,
As idleness is the worst feature of unemployment.
No matter how much you try to bury it,
The truth shall prevail,
Cries to the Supreme Court to issue a writ,
People are being killed on a large scale,
Media’s efforts to hide the issue is tireless,
After all this is the Manipur Violence.
Farmers protesting day and night,
Agriculture is our wisest pursuit,
The government knows what is right,
But still chooses to help the corrupt man in the suit,
Thousands of farmers protesting for minimum support price,
The poor farmer working hard for that grain of rice.
Ladakh demands for full statehood,
Protesters call for inclusion in the sixth schedule,
They need to maintain their land as they should,
Cries to the media to cut through the bull,
Sonam Wangchuk and residents are on a hunger strike,
To maintain the beautiful land of Ladakh we need to fight.
If we don’t vote then we are not only ignoring the past,
But also giving away the future,
In the voting booth there is no caste,
In the Indian democracy Supreme Court acts as a suture,
We need to stand as the democracy is choking,
So we all can agree on the importance of voting.
